Preparation for Specific Graduate Programs

In the spirit of the liberal arts tradition, and in the spirit of
training well-rounded psychologists, the Psychology Department
recommends that majors sample broadly across the discipline within
the Psychology courses they choose to take. We do, however, realize
that some students are preparing to go on for graduate study and are
seeking advice regarding which courses will help make them strong
candidates for their graduate program of choice. We offer the
following suggestions but would like to emphasize that even students
planning to go on for graduate work should sample courses as broadly
as possible. Please remember that you are not limited to 10
Psychology courses. In order to supplement broad training with
specialized courses, you may need to consider more than 10
Psychology courses. Please discuss your course plan with your
advisor.
