I was born and grew up in south Texas; though I now live in Illinois. I am the second of three sons. I have been playing the trumpet for seven years, throughout middle and high school. During both middle and high school I performed in jazz and orchestral settings; and in high school at Culver Military Academy I performed military marching and bugling. At Davidson I participate in the jazz band, DCSO and brass choir as well as taking lessons in trumpet and voice and composing. I also enjoy acting, swing dancing, cricket and fencing and will be performing dance for the first time this semester. I considered double majoring in classical languages. Over the summer I hope to give trumpet lessons and continue writing music—possibly begin composing a musical. I don’t yet know what I want to do with my major but orchestral playing and composing are what I most interested in now.
