Senior Seminar

Senior Seminar is a capstone seminar synthesizing historical inquiry, analytical methods, and performance practice along with techniques of music research, writing, and close listening. The topic is chosen by the course instructor(s).

Some past topics include Pulitzer Prize Winning Compositions, War and Music, Herrman and Hitchcock, and Borrowing in Twentieth-Century Music.

In 2008, students in the Senior Seminar will most likely explore the topic of Nationalism and Music.
